KAS officer received threats and asked to go to Pakistan for taking on commercial establishment mafia

KAS officer and special commissioner for solid waste management, Sarfaraz Khan who received a death threat and asked to go to Pakistan pointed out his fingers at mafia that is involved in turning residential areas into commercial and garbage mafia.

On Saturday, his office received a letter stating 'he will be finished' and asked him to 'go to Pakistan'. Interestingly, the letter addressed to special commissioner's office had the sent address as 'BJP' office Bazar Street in Ulsoor. The officer has recently issued a notice to shops at Aga Abbas Ali Road asking them to shut and comply with high court order.

"You have issued notices to all the commercial offices on Aga Abbas Ali Road and surrounding area. Let them do their work peacefully, do not harass them, dont show your strength or you will be finished (death) Go to Pakistan," read the letter.

The sender has masked his identity and used BJP offices name in the letter.  "I know who is behind this death threat and asking me to go to Pakistan.  I have acted according to HC order and cracked a whip on commercial establishments and in the past, I had issued notices to garbage contractors. The commercial business in residential and garbage is a big mafia and I suspect their hand behind this act. I have filed a complaint before Ulsoor Gate Police Station," he said.

The special commissioner further added that he will not spare any mafia ruining BBMP administration. It looks like the culprits have used the BJP office name to divert attention and create animosity. "No party will stoop to such level of issuing death threat are insult an officer," he said.

Opposition Party Leader in BBMP Council and BJP corporator defended BJP party and said, all the leaders in BJP are very dignified and he suspected it be the work by few congressmen to bring bad name to BJP party. "The police should investigate and arrest whoever is behind this act," he said.

Expressing concern over safety of BBMP officials, Mayor G Padmavathi said, this kind of act of sending death threats and questioning ones nationality will demotivate officers.

"Earlier executive engineer Devraj also received death threat for taking a projects and Sarfaraz Khan received a death threat from a public representative to stop Airtel from laying underground cable when, Khan was incharge of Yelhanka zone. This should be stopped. I have requested the jurisdictional police to probe and take the case to its logical end,"
