Dr Surya Kumari, the sister of IAS Karnataka cadre officer Hepziba Rani, went missing on August 1 and her body was found on August 6 in a highly decomposed state at Komatikunta Lakulu, and her two-wheeler was traced near the Ryves canal in Vijayawada.

Surya is the younger sister of Kanakapura Zilla Panchayat CEO Hepsiba Rani Koralpati (IAS).

25-year-old Surya Kumari is said to have had a relationship with TDP ex-MLA Bobbili Jayaraj's son Vidyasagar. The police have found a mobile message sent to Vidyasagar which states that you cheated me by rejecting to marry me.

Here is the alleged message sent by Surya Kumari to Vidyasagar.

"Bobbie (Sagar's nickname) I loved you so much, and despite you saying no, I have been forcing you to marry me…My parents are planning to take me away from this place and might come after you. So be careful.”

Bobbie is Vidyasagar's nickname, and he is a jewellery businessman by profession. Vidyasagar is already married, and apparently, Dr Surya wanted to marry him. Surya was working at a Public Health Centre in Vissannapeta.

Soorya's parents have alleged that Vidyasagar has a role in their daughter going missing and in her murder. Vidyasagar's wife Sushma has told the police that, "On Wednesday, at around 11 am, the police picked up my husband from home, and also took the hard disks that stored CCTV Footage. They are not telling us where he is now."

Times of India reported that Sushma even alleged that Surya Kumari had visited their house and wanted to marry Vidyasagar.

The police are currently checking the WhatsApp exchanges and call records between Surya and Vidyasagar. Vidyasagar was charged under IPC sections 306 (abetment to suicide) and 420 (cheating) and has been remanded to 14-day judicial custody by the Vijayawada Sessions Court.
