Karnataka Bandh is being held by the pro-Kannada activists supported by various 2000 organisations including the Film Chamber with an aim to pressurise PM Modi to intervene in the Mahadayi issue between Karnataka and Goa. With Karnataka Rakshana Vedike and Vatal Nagaraj's supporters making sure that vehicles are off roads and shutters of the shops are down, most of Karnataka is wearing a deserted look.

1) Tight security to CM's residence Cauvery in Bengaluru, CM directs the police personnel not to allow anyone inside his residence

2) Pro-Kannada leader Vatal Nagaraj's supporters forcefully make the vendors close the shops in Bengaluru

3) Emergency services, medical facilities, milk, newspapers, vegetables available

4) Security beefed up at metro stations; metro trains function as usual in Bengaluru

5) But BMTC and KSRTC buses are not moving; it is said that the drivers have reported for duty, but they are not permitted to take the buses out on the road

6) To prevent any untoward incident, private schools, colleges remain closed

7) Doctors asked to report to duty; authorities stated that doctors could not apply for leave
