The 7 dissident legislators from JD(S) and former MLC Ramakrishna will be meeting AICC president Sonia Gandhi and vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Aug 17 at New Delhi. They are flying to Delhi on the invitation of Sonia Gandhi to discuss joining the Congress Party, reported Kannada Prabha.
Speaking to media persons separately at Tumakuru and Madduru, rebel legislator Zameer Ahmed and Cheluvaraya Swamy said for technical reasons they cannot join Congress by December end. To hold final round of talks with Sonia Gandhi they are leaving to Delhi. On the same day Siddaramaiah and KPCC president Dr G Parameshwar are also flying to New Delhi.
Cheluvaraya Swamy, who is aspiring for Congress ticket from Maddur said there are already a long list of candidates aspiring for Congress ticket. Whatever decision the High Command takes will be final.
