Bengaluru: Ahead of the Lok Sabha election, the Janata Dal Secular JD(S) called for a convention of party workers and announced that it is ready to face the upcoming election. Office bearers from all the districts were summoned.

JD(S) leader R Prakash told Newsable that the leaders will later decide on the seat sharing formula with its coalition partner, the Congress.

“JD(S) President H Vishwanath who was contemplating resignation due to health issues and alleged differences will not resign,” Prakash said

Speaking at the meeting H Vishwanath also cleared rumours about his resignation following differences saying that he approached the JD(S) supremo HD Deve Gowda this morning to tender his resignation on health grounds.

H Vishwanath also added he took the decision purely on health grounds but is now forced to continue as HD Deve Gowda did not accept.

"HD Deve Gowda ji asked me to continue. He said the party is in very critical situation and needs an experienced person to be at the top of party affairs, so I will continue." said Vishwanath.
