In the backdrop of complaints that the bureaucrats in the state are under "threat" in the state, senior IAS officer Amlan Aditya Biswas, has sought protection from the police after a woman created ruckus in his office at Dairy Circle.

A woman identified as Satya Jyoti from Ballari allegedly barged into his office and raised a hue and cry for more than hour leaving the staff shocked. She even abused the staff, it is said. The woman also allegedly threw a bag into Biswas chamber. Officer Biswas was not in the office, when the incident occurred, reports Kannada Prabha. The staff immediately alerted the Siddapur police who rushed to the spot. They found that the bag that the woman had thrown had a helmet in it. The incident has forced the IAS officer to seek police protection and he is said to have written a letter to the City Police Commissioner Praveen Sood.

Amlan Aditya Biswas shot into limelight during his term in Ballari. He was hailed as the Hero Bellari by media houses after he sized 9,000 metric tonnes of iron ore that was illegally being transported from Ballari in 2011. Biswas is a 1997-batch IAS officer who hails from Kolkata. He is known as the upright officer.

It may be recalled here that after the death of IAS officer Anurag Tewari questions are being raised over threat to IAS officers' life in the state. Even KAS officer K Mathai too had recently sought protection from Chief Secretary fearing threat to his life. Mathai had unearthed corruption in BBMP's advertising revenue and had even named some of the senior IAS officers in it.

Although, the police have not linked the incident at Biswas' office, they are not ruling out any possibilities, either, it is said.
