Here's a not-so-good news for Rowdy Naga's lawyer

Former corporator and Rowdy, Naga alias Nagaraj who has been arrested under money laundering charges may have to look for another lawyer. For, the City police have now filed an FIR against his lawyer, Srirama Reddy, for obstructing their investigation.

Srirama Reddy, it is said that, had offered the Banaswadi Assistant Commissioner of Police Ravi Kumar - who are investigating into the case - to present Rowdy Naga before the police, if they agree to the conditions laid down by Rowdy Naga, on May 8. This was flatly rejected by the police. Furious at this, advocate Srirama Reddy allegedly threatened the police officers. "I know what to do with you all. If you don't agree to the conditions, I will make Naga release one more CD. You all will be dragged to the court," he had threatened.

It may be recalled here that Rowdy Naga had gone underground after the city police raided his house in April 14 on allegations of money laundering and extortion. During the raid the police had found crores of demonetised notes stashed in his house located on the bylanes of Srirampura.

Rowdy Naga was recently picked up from Vellore in Tamil Nadu, after being on the run for over a month. Along with Rowdy Naga, the police have also arrested his sons - Gandhi and Shastri. While he was absconding, he had released CDs alleging that a few senior police officers seeking his help in exchanging demonetised notes. He had also threatened to drag the police officers to the court, if they torture him after the arrest. His lawyer Srirama Reddy had used the same tactic when he met the police in Banaswadi but now has earned the wrath of investigating officers. ACP Ravikumar has mentioned Reddy's "threats" in his FIR, reports Kannada Prabha.

Meanwhile, Rowdy Naga's wife Lakshmi who was issued summons by the police to appear before them is absconding. Lakshmi is accused of abetting her husband in his illegal activities.
