One post is vacant due to the untimely death of Cooperatives Minister Mahadev Prasad, HY Meti was forced to resign as the Excise Minister following the sex tape case. The most important post of Home Minister also became vacant when G Prameshwara took charge as the KPCC President and was asked to resign as the Home Minister.

But in a surprising development, no one is coming forward to take up the Home Ministry. Even the High Command is said to have asked the CM to give the post to senior and experienced leaders. But the sources have said that though veteran Congress leaders Ramesh Kumar, RV Deshpande, HC Mahadevappa and Ramalingareddy were approached for the Home Minister’s post, they are said to have refused to take up the post.

According to Suvarna News, a man named Kempaiah is the reason why they are refusing to be the Home Minister. Kempaiah serves as the adviser to the Home Minister. Sources say that no decisions are taken without the permission of Kempaiah. He has been termed as a close aide of CM Siddaramaiah.

Thus, it is said that the leaders are ready to take up the Home Ministry if it is assured that Kempaiah will not interfere in every matter. But this is a distant dream as CM is not likely to replace Kempaiah.
