Veda Krishnamurthy and Rajeshwari Gayakwad are two players who have made Karnataka proud as the team members of Indian Women's Cricket team which reached the finals of the World Cup. Here is all you need to know about Veda Krishnamurthy and Rajeshwari Gayakwad.

Veda Krishnamurthy was born 16 October 1992 at Kadur in Chikkamagaluru district. Veda debuted in the international cricket in a one day international against England Women at Derby on Jun 30, 2011. She is a right-handed batswoman and bowls right-arm leg break.

In November 2015 Veda was included in the B-grade contract list. Thus she became the part of the team which was offered contracts to women players by the BCCI.

Veda is the youngest of four siblings in her family. She obtained a double black belt in Karate at the age of 12. Her father is a cable operator and shifted from Chikkamagaluru to Bengaluru to help realise her daughter’s dream of being a part of the Indian cricket team.

Rajeshwari Gayakwad was born 1 June 1991 in Bijapur which is now called Vijayapur. 26-year-old star player made her debut in the one day international against Sri Lanka on 19 January 2014. She is a right-hand batswoman and bowls slow left-arm orthodox.

Rajeshwari had recorded the best bowling figures for India in the Women's Cricket World Cup history by taking 5 wickets for just 15 runs.

Rajeshwari's father died of a cardiac arrest while watching India VS West Indies match at Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru in 2014. Now Rajeshwari is the sole bread winner of the family, and she has to look after her mother and four sisters.

Now international star Rajeshwari's family lives at Nehru Nagar in Gangbavadia in a small rented house and is still dreaming of having an own house.
