JD(S) State President H D Kumaraswamy has clearly stated that he will neither sign the legislative committee report of misappropriation of funds in Power Department nor attend the meeting on Nov 7. He has also alleged that there are more scams in the current Congress government than the previous BJP government, reported Kannada Prabha.

The legislative committee report regarding the misappropriation in Power Department during the previous government when Shobha Karandlaje was Power Minister is being discussed in political circles. H D Kumaraswamy’s statement is significant in this context.

Speaking to news persons at his J P Nagar residence on Friday HD Kumaraswamy said Minister D K Shivakumar casually visited him. The legislative committee meeting has been called once again on Nov 7 but he will not be attending it. However, he will send replies to the information that the officials have asked, Kumaraswamy said.

He clarified that on June 13 he had sent a report. BJP members Basavaraja Bommai and Vishveshwara Hegade Kageri also had submitted reports. The committee has prepared a report combining all the 3 reports and why should I sign it he asked. He stated that he will not sign it and also alleged that there are more scams in current Congress government than the previous BJP government. The government has violated legislative committee regulations. Ministers should not be appointed as president of committees but the Congress government has appointed a minister as president of the committee, he said.

Meanwhile, it has been said that there is provision to submit the report even without Kumaraswamy signing it.  There are 11 members in the committee of both Congress and BJP. As per rules signature of 3 members is sufficient to submit the report.
