Perhaps the best beneficiaries of the new Green line of the Namma Metro are students and teachers between Nagasandra and Yelachenahalli on the Bengaluru North-South Corridor. With a large number of schools and colleges lined along the route, the newly opened line has put an end to the 'pick and drop' pains of thousands of households.

Here is a list of just some education institutions along Green Line - National College, Bangalore Medical College, Vani Vilas Girls High School and PU Collage, Indian Medical Education Library, Kempegowda Medical College (KIMS), Bangalore Institute of Technology. Bhagavan Mahaveer Jain College, RV College, NMKRV, Vijaya College, JSS Education Institutions, Vijaya First Grade College and others.

Even the students of Maharani’s College, Government Arts and Science College, Home Science College, UVCE JC Polytechnic and Central College will be facilitated by the Metro. National High School student Karthik told Kannada Prabha that “Everyday I and my hostel friends used to walk from SLN Hostel at KR Market to National High School. Now, we can take the Metro, which will reduce our time."

Aruna Sarakki, a teacher at St Joseph’s School, said “The fear of getting caught in the traffic jam was too intense, had to start very early. Now, I am relieved of that tension.” Neela from Kengeri, Vani Vilas College said “The reduced travel time helps us to concentrate more on studies. But the cost is a little high for students.”

Shobha R, another student from Vani Vilas College, said “Student’s monthly pass at discounted rate will be very helpful.” Yash J Solanki, a student of St Joseph’s College, said “Everyday my father used to drop me from Banashankari to MG Road. With the Metro, he is relieved now.”

Preethi Armi, a student of Public School also said the same “My father had to drop me or I had to take cab. With Metro the travel time and expenses are reduced.” P Manjunath said “To go from Chikkaballapura to Majestic and Majestic to Market would take a long time. Now I can reach market in 10 minutes from Majestic.”
