Social Welfare Department writes to KPSC to stop recruitment process for various posts. It takes objection to degree in English medium made compulsory for certain posts. Kannada Development Authority chairman had complained against this to Government.

The Social Welfare Department on the State Government has written to the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) to stop all recruitment processes, taking objection to KPSC making it mandatory to have degree in English medium for certain posts, reported Kannada Prabha.

This instruction refers to only those recruitment called for in the residential schools that come under the Social Welfare Department. Deputy Secretary Shambhulingaiah of Social Welfare Department has written to KPSC in this regard.

The Kannada Development Authority Chairman Prof S G Siddaramaiah had taken objection to the condition put for recruitment that degree in English medium was compulsory for the candidates applying for the posts at residential schools. He had written to the Social Welfare Minister who in turn issued a notice to KPSC to stop recruitment process for the said posts.
