The accident occurred on Thursday, August 31, when Raghavendra, who is also an MLA from Shikaripur, knock down the man while driving in his SUV.

Raghavendra, son of BJP state president BS Yeddyurappa, was on his way to Shikaripur when he mowed down the man near Madapuram Cross near Honnail Taluk.
Several people gathered at the spot following the accident.
Suresh and his friend were crossing the road after de-boarding from an auto when the minister, speeding towards Shikaripur from Honnail knocked them down. The minister reportedly continued driving for another 3-4 kms before returning back to the accident spot.
The minister took the two injured people to the hospital. Suresh was declared brought dead.
Honnali inspector JR Ramesh and former minister MP Renukacharya visited the spot.
A complaint was registered at the Nyamathi police station.
