Ex-minister's nephew vandalises bakery, assaults owner for cigarette

FollowA kin of ex-minister and his friends vandalised and assaulted a bakery owner for asking to pay for the cigarette. Marathalli police have arrested the three persons, and are on the lookout for seven absconding, reported Kannada Prabha.
Ritesh, resident of Munekolalu, his friends Chandan, Vagesh and seven others had gone to a bakery near CKB Junction near Marathalli on Tuesday night. They drank coffee and smoked and were returning without paying. When the bakery owner Ashish asked them to pay for coffee and cigarette Ritesh, who is nephew of former minister Ashwathanarayana, asked him how could he ask him to pay and the gang assaulted the bakery owner.
Immediatelt Ashish shut down the bakery and went away to a paying guest accommodation at Munekolalu, where he stays. At around 1 pm, Ritesh came to the location with his friends and vandalised the place and created havoc. The locals immediately called the police control room. When Hoysala arrived on the spot the gang tried to escape but the police managed to catch Ritesh, Chandan and Vagesh.
The police officials said the vandalism and rowdism is captured in the CCTV camera installed at the building. Based on Ashish’ statement and CCTV footage a case was filed in the night and the 3 were arrested. Search is on to find other seven said the police.
When the Hoysala caught Ritesh and his friends and took them to the station, the ASI, BS Reddy told Ashish that Ritesh was a big guy, why oppose him and it is better to go for compromise. On hearing this DCP Abdhul Ahmed suspended ASI Reddy and has ordered for a departmental inquiry against him.
