Police finally arrest accused in Eshwarappa PA kidnap attempt case

FollowRowdy sheeter Prashanth (25), accused in the Eshwarappa’s personal assistant’s attempted kidnap case, who jumped police on the pretext of answering nature’s call has been arrested again at Mysuru on Wednesday. He was presented before the judge and taken to police custody for five days, said Whitefield DCP Narayan, reports Kannada Prabha.
Prashanth, a resident of Marathhalli is the main accused in the attempt to kidnap Eshwarappa’s personal assistant Vinay. There are over 25 cases registered against him in attempt to murder and dacoity. On July 8, at around 8.30 pm, when he was being taken in a police jeep, near ITI grounds at KR Pura, he requested to stop to answer nature’s call. The police stopped the jeep and removed the handcuffs and allowed him to go. He pushed the constable who had accompanied him and ran way. He contacted his friends, took a bus to Dharmapuri in Tamil Nadu, shaved his head and went into hiding. He, however, was in contact with his family and friends.
Police took his friends into detention and interrogated them. Based on the information, two teams had gone to Dharmapuri. Prashanth came to know that police had come to arrest him, he took a bus to Bengaluru on Wednesday morning and after reaching Bengaluru, took another bus and went to Mysuru, reports Kannada Prabha. The police were keeping track of his phones he was using and located him at the road going to Chamundi Hills. At around 4 pm, a team led by Marathhalli inspector Prashanth Babu arrested him. Prashanth was attempting to contact a friend in Mysuru to go to Ooty to hide. He is now being interrogated, said DCP Narayan to Kannada Prabha.
It can be recalled here that Prashanth’s wife had filed a Habaes Corpus application on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Prashanth’s mother Menakamma alleged that the police had decided to encounter him and said she has already lost one son Vinod and does not want to lose Prashanth to police encounter.Â
