Encroachment near Vijayanagar Metro notice issued to BBMP traffic police

The High Court on Monday issued a notice to BBMP Commissioner and Additional Police Commissioner, Traffic, with regard to a PIL filed appealing to clear the encroachment of pedestrian crossing and the service road near the Vijayanagar Metro station and parking to be provided for Metro commuters, reported Kannada Prabha.

D Hemesh Babu, resident of Vijayanagara had filed a Public Interest Litigation in this regard and was heard by a bench headed by chief justice S K Mukherjee and justice P S Dinesh Kumar.  The PIL stated that over 140 vendors selling fruits, vegetables and cloths have encroached upon the Service Road and the pedestrian crossing causing great inconvenience to public.  BBMP Commissioner has not responded after repeated requests and complaints. Also despite HC order BBMP has not acted on it.  Hence the PIL requested to get the encroachment cleared and parking be provided at the place.
