Drunk ambulance driver unleashes havoc on Bengaluru roads

An ambulance driver, Nagaraj (30), working with a private hospital, was found driving the ambulance totally drunk, at Girinagar 2nd stage, on Tuesday evening. He rammed into two cars parked by the roadside.

The locals caught and handed him over to the Banashankari traffic police, who arrested and registered a case against him. The ambulance has been confiscated. Nagaraj was sent for medical examination. Fortunately no casualty reported.

In another case of series accident, Nikhil (26), an engineer from Peenya, was hit by a speeding car and died on his way to the hospital. The accident occurred when one Shreyas was driving a car at great speed near SBM junction at Peenya and hit a goods auto and Nikhil who was riding a motorbike. Nikhil was being taken to the hospital and he died on the way. Nikhil was a mechanical engineer with a private firm residing at Andrahalli, Herohalli on Magadi Road. Car driver Shreyas suffered minor injuries and is under treatment at a private hospital. He will be arrested after discharge said Peenya police. A case has been booked.

In another incident, a ten-month-old child died when a tipper hit a bike near Sunkadakatte bus stand on Tuesday. The child Bharath was the son of Rajappa Mallana Gowda and Shailaja of Andhra Pradesh, residing in Bengaluru. Shailaja and Bharath were returning from their native and arrived at the City on Tuesday. Rajappa came to the bus stand to take his wife and son home on bike. On their way, they were hit by a tipper lorry from behind; the child fell down and was run over by the lorry. Tipper driver Krishnamurthy (25) has been arrested by Kamakshipalya traffic police.
