The death of IAS officer DK Ravi continues to haunt the Congress government and in most unexpected ways. Gowramma, the mother of DK Ravi, the IAS officer who was found dead in his flat, has expressed her willingness to contest this Assembly election.

The mother who had been claiming that the government meted out injustice in her son's death now feels that it needs a concerted effort to get justice for her son.

According to Suvarna News, the fans of Ravi have been putting pressure on Gowramma to take on the Congress government, and they felt that she could do by contesting the election. Ravi had earned a legion of fans with his good work and also for inspiring many youths from poor and backward districts to take up civil services.

DK Ravi who was the additional commissioner for commercial taxes was found dead at his flat on March 16, 2015. The officer's death created an uproar in the Karnataka Assembly with Opposition parties accusing the government. After coming under severe pressure, the government handed over the case to CBI which concluded that the IAS officer killed himself and closed the report. But the probe findings still haunt the IAS officer's family who has not yet come to terms with the tragedy and the reason behind it. Ravi's mother Gowramma has been complaining that her son did not get justice even after his death.

It must be noted here that JD(S) leader HD Kumaraswamy had extended his support in their agitation to demand justice for Ravi's death. Gowramma had earlier refused to accept the financial aid of Rs 10 lakh provided by the State Vokkaligara Sangha.

It is reported that Gowramma is not yet clear whether to join any party or contest independently. "I am contemplating to contest this Assembly election after my son's fans forced me to think in this way. I may contest from Kolar," reports Suvarna News quoting Gowramma
