Dharmasthala is global model in skill development

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said globally nations are placing at most importance to skill development. Through skill development employment and nation building is achieved. In Dharmasthala it is implemented much before others. The encouragement to skill development for rural development project is a model to the world. Self Help and skill development started in Dharmasthala much before government thought of it he said, reported Kannada Prabha.

The PM was speaking at the inauguration of distribution of RuPay card to 12 lakh SHG members, of Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development project,  data based SHG management and Save the Mother Earth Campaign at the Sri Dharmasthala Ratnavarma Heggade Stadium at Ujire on Sunday.

This was Modi’s first visit to Dharmasthala as a PM. He expressed his appreciation of the developmental works carried out by the Dharmadhikari Veerendra Heggade. There are national and international evaluations carried out about MBA, BBM and quality of hospitals.  Similar evaluation must be carried out with regard to religious centres also.  For decades seers and saints have set up religious centres for public service. Dharmasthala has implemented model programms  with regard to religion, cleanliness, shelter, education and food distribution.  Education institutions of the global level must come here to study the programs implemented, he said.

Heaping eloquent complements on the method of working of Heggade Modi mentioned the food, shelter, education and medicine charity at Dharmasthala as a penance and admitted that he was small compared to Dr Heggade.  He felicitated Heggade on behalf of the citizens of the country he declared. Heggade on his part thanked him and said he was proud to have been felicitated by the Prime Minister.

The PM remembered that the State BJP president Yeddyurappa keeps talking about the areca nut growers in the coastal area and when Modi was the chief minister Yeddyurappa had visited Gujarat. PM also gave complements to MP Nalin Kumar Kateel and Anantha Kumar. Ever since Ananthakumar took charge as the fertiliser minister 2 years ago, the country has not had fertiliser shortage he said.  Talking against the chemical fertilisers Modi said by 2022 it will be 75 years since independence. By then we must have reduced the Urea dependency at least by 50 percent and return to natural farming he said.

Speaking about the digital currency he said that is the future of India.  He gave a call to the people to usher in cashless transaction. Modi claimed that corruption has reduced considerably since demonitisation.  He said grants are now reaching beneficiaries and misappropriation has been eradicated. Rs 57, 000 crore illegal busyness has been curtailed due to demonitisation, which is a good answer to critics, he said.
