The Defence authorities in Karnataka have agreed to give up 62 acres of its land in the City for development activities. Defence land at K R Pura, Domlur in the City was hindering developmental activities. BBMP convinced Union Defence Minister to accept alternative 207 acres of land at Anekal. Defence officials surveyed the land at Tammanaykanahalli at Anekal and technically approved.

The long standing dispute of Defence land in the City that hindered developmental works has finally been resolved with the Defence Ministry technically agreeing to give up the 62 acres of urban lands in exchange of receiving 207.24 acres rural land at Tammanaykanahalli in Anekal, reported Kannada Prabha.

BBMP has offered 207.24 acres of land at Tammanaykanahalli in Anekal in exchange of 62 acres of land in the City. Developmental Works at K R Pura, Domlur and other places were hindered by the Defence intercepting civic land. BBMP officials met the Defence Minister at New Delhi and convinced him of the problem. He agreed to give up the urban land for exchange of rural land. On Tuesday a team of high ranking officers from the Defence surveyed the land at Tammanaykanahalli.

Karnataka and Kerala in charge, Deputy Regional General Officer Commanding Major General K S Nijjar, Col Ashok Mishra, BBMP Special Commissioner B M Vijayashankar, Projects Division chief engineer K T Nagaraj, South deputy section officer D B Natesh jointly surveyed the land.

The land has been approved technically and Maj Gen K S Nijjar said he would submit the report to the Defence Ministry
