Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has given stern instructions to all officials concerned to complete the civil works, both proposed and in progress, by December. He called for a meeting of officials of various departments including BBMP, BWSSB, BMRCL on Monday to get an update on all proposed and in progress projects. He obtained the progress report along with photographs of all underpass, over bridges, tender sure roads, widening of roads, pedestrian paths and junction developments in the City. He inquired the causes for delay and instructed that all civil works must be expedited and should be complete by December 2017. Apart from long-term projects which are exempted from this dead line, all other works must be completed, the CM instructed, reports Kannada Prabha.

The proposed Metro for International Airport report should be prepared and officials must concentrate on initiating the project at the earliest, Siddaramaiah said. The State government has already agreed to construct Metro line from Nagawara to Kempegowda International Airport and preparations have to be undertaken in this regard. The proposed Metro between KR Puram and Hebbal was also mentioned at the meeting and the CM said the project report should be submitted for the same. The CM inquired about the action taken to handle the increasing traffic by BBMP and the police department. All BBMP road widening and over bridge and underpasses must be completed at the earliest and the police should take action to implement all its plans to evade traffic jams, he said.
When CM was informed about the protest for steel bridge at Shivananda Circle, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said 90 per cent of the people are for the steel bridge hence such protests won't affect the project. He asked the officials to go ahead with the project.
The meeting also discussed issues on solid waste management, effluent water and treatment, status of tanks and lakes, their conservation and suburban train project.
