- Dayananda Swamy went missing after a sleazy CD in which he was seen with Sandalwood actor went viral
- The seer was shunted out after the mutt devotees protested
- The seer claimed that he was being blackmailed by a few persons for Rs 5 crore
Tainted Dayananda Swamy of Maddevanapura Mutt in Hunasemaranahalli who had gone underground after a sleazy CD of him and a Sandalwood actor Kavya Acharya went viral has resurfaced with an apology. At the same time, the seer has claimed that he was the victim of blackmailing and said he was ready to face any punishment if he had done anything wrong.
Appearing in a video that was released through WhatsApp to several media houses, Dayananda swami said that he was being blackmailed by a few persons for a ransom of Rs five crore.
"A few years ago, I was approached by a few men who said they wanted to talk to me. They showed the CD that shocked the hell out of me. I asked them for a compensation, and they demanded Rs 5 crore from me," reports Suvarna News quoting the seer.
The seer reportedly took time to consider their demand. However, he expressed his helplessness for arranging such a huge amount. "They did not budge. I told them that even if I take a loan, I could only raise a maximum of 5 lakh. However, they did not consider. Later, they agreed to Rs 45 lakh, and I agreed," the seer said.
He said he had been paying them money against the promise of not to publicise the CD.
"I am ready to face any punishment if I'm proved guilty. But I also want those people who blackmailed me to be punished. We have all done wrong. Let us face it now," the seer told in the video.
He said he would come out in the open in two days and explain everything.
It may be recalled here that the seer was shunted out from the mutt. On Thursday, the Sandalwood actor Kavya Acharya who was seen with him had attempted suicide at her native in Shivamogga. She is said to be out of danger.
The whole CD row has now taken a different twist with the seer taking the names of many belonging to the mutt.
