Congress office bearers list extended to pacify dissidents

The KPCC new office bearers’ list that was released recently has created tremendous pressure on the senior leaders giving room for speculations about the already Jumbo List growing further. It is being contemplated to include several names to pacify some of the dissidents.  The rumor mill says it will become like the Kempe Gowda Awards list which is never ending, reported Kannada Prabha.

K H Muniyappa has already openly expressed his dissatisfaction with the list. Also several legislators are angry that prominence has been given to legislative council members than the Assembly members.  Added to this, every senior Congress leader is adamant to get suitable post to his supporter, as this is the election year.  Hence the list growing is definite, it is said.

Energy Minister D K Shivakumar has suggested over 20 names and S R Patil has suggested 6 names and all of them have been accommodated in the list, say sources. The names of H M Revanna who is a close associate of the Chief Minister and aspirant of KPCC vice-president’s post and former Mayor Ramachandrappa have not been given any post. Hence Kuruba community leaders are bringing pressure on the Chief Minister to give a post to H M Revanna. H Vishwanath who was always organising the Kuruba community has quit the Party and hence there is pressure to induct Revanna, who has direct contact with the community, into the list. The possibility of Vivekananda, Mandya Congress leader and a strong supporter of Ambarish getting a post is strong.  Ambarish has also recommended him to be appointed Mandya district Congress president. The present president M S Atmananda has been given a post.

Presently there are 171 KPCC office bearers. However senior leaders are complaining that equal opportunities have not been given to all communities.
