Congress well wishers make a beeline to D K Shivakumar’s house to cheer him

Congress leaders and wellwishers visited Energy Minister D K Shivakumar’s house at Sadashivanagar to show moral support in the context of IT raid on his estate, reported Kannada Prabha.

After 3 days of IT raid lasting 74 hours till Saturday morning, D K Shivakumar carried on his activities as usual, meeting Gujarat MLAs at the Eagleton Resort. However, Congress leaders, well wishers met him to show their solidarity to him. KPCC president Dr G Parameshwar, Ministers M B Patil, Ramesh Jarkiholi, KPCC Women’s wing president Lakshmi Hebbalkar met DK Shivakumar at his residence.  Hundreds of well wishers including Vokkaliga mutt Nanjavadutha Swamy, Mayor G Padmavathi also arrived. Shivakumar’s mother also made a visit to his Sadashivanagar house.

KPCC president Dr Parameshwar, who was celebrating his birthday day yesterday, met D K Shivakumar and later spoke to the news persons stating we have already said that the IT raid is a political vendetta.  It was taken up knowing his capabilities. Congress Party is strong and will tackle such hurdles efficiently, he said.

Talking to newspersons D K Shivakumar said he is getting all relevant documents with regard to the raids on his supporters and family members. He said he would speak to the media after getting all documents. He however stated that the Party had supported him. He said he would discuss with the Chief Minister after getting all documents. He was grateful to the Party for standing by him at the difficult time.

He wished Dr Parameshwar on his birthday and said he would follow the instructions of the high command regarding Gujarat MLAs.  Nanjavadutha Swamy said let law take its course but if the raid was politically motivated, it is inexcusable.
