Coming soon a television channel by Bengaluru police

Imagine, our police officers reading the news a la news readers. Sounds far-fetched? But that may soon be a reality if things fall in place. For, Bengaluru police are launching their television channel, soon and it is likely to be called as BCP TV. This would be Bengaluru police's another 'first' to their many 'firsts'.

This would make them the first police force in the country to have their own channel. The channel is expected to be carry programmes on crime alert, arrests and other related issues. However, it is not yet clear, how the police would run the channel amidst their hectic schedule.

City Police Commissioner Praveen Sood let this news out on the department's twitter handle - "Like we said earlier, we are watching you, you can watch us too." The studio's interiors are said to be swanky and is at the fifth floor of the new commissioner's office on Infantry Road.

It is learnt that the police personnel will be trained in news reading like regular news anchors.

After having over 10 lakh followers on their Facebook account, Bengaluru police's twitter account now boasts of 6,85,000 followers on its account. The city police are now on Snapchat too and they are the first do so, in the country.
