BSY takes 'Lunchavathar', offers home-lunch to not-so hungry Dalits!

It looks like BJP has only one card left to fight the Congress in Karnataka, i.e. the Dalit Card. BS Yeddyurappa is making full use of this factor and has organised lunch for Dalits in his house.

Earlier, when BSY had had breakfast in Dalits houses, it was alleged that he ate the idlis brought from the hotel and did not consume the food prepared at Dalit's house. This followed by BSY's many efforts to visit a number of Dalits homes and having the home-cooked food at his home Dhavalagiri in Dollars Colony, Bengaluru.

It looks like this has not satisfied Yeddyurappa, who has now arranged for a special lunch for the Dalits in his house. They have invited me to their house, and now I am respecting them back, he says. It looks like this is Yeddyurappa's answer to the opposition parties who ridiculed him for visiting Dalit houses for breakfast.

The food was cooked at the BJP leader Yeddyurappa's house, and his daughter Uma took care of the cooking preparations. In addition, BJP leader Shobha Karandlaje will be giving a gift to the Dalits who come for lunch to BSY's house.

Of course for you to understand the speciality of the occasion, here is the menu of the lunch. The media reported that Pulav, special sweet of Karnataka-Holige, beans curry, grains side-dish and other items accompanied the main item.

However, politicians across the parties start visiting the houses of Dalits, eat the food they cook, sometimes even stay at their houses just when the elections are nearing. Where were these leaders dalit love a few months ago?

It can be noted that the Dalits having food at BSY's house are not the ones who have difficulty in earning their food.

Be it Kumaraswamy's gramavasthavya, Siddaramaiah's India canteen or BSY's lunch for Dalits it is all in full swing only when elections are round the corner.

Have you people heard these leaders speak anything about the death of Rohit Vemula, killing people in the name of cow protection, death of many Dalit girls or the fact that Dalits do not get a house for rent as they are non-vegetarians? Unless their problems regarding education, unemployment are addressed no amount of having food in their house, or other such tricks will work.

Let us see if this trick of 'lunch and gift' works wonders in the coming elections.
