There is a rumor that political vendetta is the reason behind the assault and kidnap attempt of Vinay. Rajendra Urs has taken anticipatory bail in the Vinay assault case and he was summoned in this regard.  The investigating officers interrogated him for a long time and have called him again on Wednesday.  Only after the interrogation is completed can the reason for the incident can be revealed, DCP Chetan Rathod Singh told Kannada Prabha. It can be recalled that there was an attempt to kidnap K S Eshwarappa’s personal assistant Vinay on May 11.

Santhosh's involvement with a model is said to be the point of contention between Yeddyurappa's PA Vinay (who allegedly has the tape regarding this) and Eshwarappa's PA Santhosh.
