State BJP leaders to take up Mahadayi issue with Goa and Maharashtra

FollowA delegation comprising State BJP leaders will soon meet the chief ministers of Goa and Maharashtra regarding to evolve measures to resolve the Mahadayi river dispute. The State BJP leaders were waiting for the Goa by-elections to get over before they could approach the state leaders. The delegation aims at persuading the chief ministers of both the states to come to a conclusion regarding Mahadayi river dispute, BJP State president BS Yeddyurappa told mediapersons, reports Kannada Prabha.
Goa chief minister Manohar Parrikkar and Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis will be explained about the acute drinking water shortage in certain districts in Karnataka and appealed to resolve Mahadayi dispute, Yeddyurappa said. He also said that while the BJP delegation will do its part of convincing the two CMs, the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah should also meet the Opposition Congress leaders in both these states and convince them. Lest, it would be difficult to resolve the dispute. Opposition leader in the Assembly Jagadish Shettar also expressed the same opinion and urged Siddaramaiah to hold talks with Congress leaders in this regard.
