Bengaluru Police shoot leg of murder accused

A day after the murder of Zabi Ullah of Byatarayanapura, Bodka Wasim of JJ Nagar who has eight cases pending against him, was shot in Jnanabharathi police limits. Among the eight pending, the accused is said to be in involved in two murder and three attempt to murder cases.

A day after the murder of Zabi Ullah of Byatarayanapura, Bengaluru Police shot Bodka Wasim, an accused murderer, when he tried to attack the police and flee. A team of police personnel headed by inspector Veerendra Prasad of Jnanabharathi police had to resort to shooting the accused when he retaliated and tried to flee instead of surrendering when cornered.

According DCP West, Ravi Channannavar, Wasim is prime accused in Zabi Ullah’s murder and had five arrest warrants pending against him. Based on a tip-off, police managed to track him down. The accused instead of surrendering tried to retaliate and was shot in the leg.

The accused was shifted to Victoria Hospital for treatment. Girish Kumar a fellow policeman of Byatarayanapura police was treated for minor injuries.

"The criminal is also wanted in a dacoity case. He is wanted in eight cases. There are warrants against him in stations like JJ Nagar, Chandra Layout and Byatarayanapura," said a senior police official.
