100 aliases, 100 women: Bengaluru police nabs sexual predator, cheater

Sadat Mushtaq Khan was only 18 years old when he started this new 'business' of wooing women and cheating them off their money and valuables. Now, at 28, he has more than 100 names, 100 lovers and loads of money. Trust is not the only thing that the women who have come in his contact lost. He also assaulted most of them sexually. 

Depending on the woman's profile, Khan would pose himself as the CEO of a multinational company, son of a rich industrialist or a government employee awaiting civil service exam results. 

However, his journey came to an end last week when a woman whom he had cheated approached the police and lodged a complaint against him. Police, speaking to the Times of India, said, "After meeting the woman in person, he would promise to marry her, slowly win her confidence by spending a lot on her. Later, citing an emergency, he would take money or gold from her and vanish."

Incidentally, most of his victims did not go to the police for the fear of losing honour. But this woman from  Bagalur near Yelahanka, north-east Bengaluru, filed a complaint of rape against Sadat, a resident of Mirza Mohalla Road, with Yelahanka police. DCP P S Harsha said, "If we go by his statement, at least 75-100 women have fallen prey to him. We are requesting the public to file complaints if they are any victims."

Khan found his victims on matrimonial sites and everytime he would register with a different name, residential address and cellphone number. Incidentally, he was smart enough not to take his victims to the same hotels, resorts and shopping malls where he had taken his previous victims. The money he got from the previous girl was invested in his next target.
