This Bengaluru woman is now on the richest Indian list along with Ambani and others

  • Bengaluru based 42-year-old Ambiga Subramaniyan figure among others in the Hurun India Rich List 2017.
  • She is the youngest self made woman billionaires, who sold her shares in Mu-Sigma, the data analytics unicorn that she co-founded.
  • There are 51 billionaires in Bengaluru and 117 in New Delhi and Mumbai tops the list with 182 billionaires.

While Mukhesh Ambani retains his number one position as the richest man in India for the 6th time, Acharya Balakrishna, CEO, Pathanjali, D-Mart owner Radhakrishna Damani, the new retail king and Bengaluru based 42-year-old Ambiga Subramaniyan figure among others in the Hurun India Rich List 2017, reported Kannada Prabha.

Ambiga Subramniyan is said to be the youngest self-made woman in the list. She sold her shares in Mu-Sigma, the data analytics unicorn that she co-founded.  Ambiga joined the exclusive list of woman CEOs of billion dollar plus valuation private company in 2012. She is described as the driving force behind the impressive growth of the company.

Mukhesh Ambani recorded a growth of 58 per cent in his assets with Rs 2,57,000 crore, which is 50 per cent more than the GDP of Yemen. Acharya Balakrishna, CEO, Pathanjali, is a childhood friend of Baba Ramdev, Yoga Guru is now on the Hurun Rich List, recording a growth rate of 173 percent. He now is worth Rs 70,000 crores. His turnover last fiscal year was Rs 10,561 crores. Damani recorded a growth of 320 per cent, called the biggest gainer. Next is Anurag Jain and family of Endurance Tech with a growth of 286 per cent.

There are 51 billionaires in Bengaluru and 117 in New Delhi and Mumbai tops the list with 182 billionaires. Chennai has 15 billionaires.
