Bengaluru: Auto driver tries to commit suicide for asking to pay fine

  • An auto driver who was asked to pay a fine of Rs 3500, including the old and the new, created high drama by lying under a BMTC bus.
  • When his auto number was checked in the PDA meter it showed that he had violated rules 34 times. 
  • He started screaming and jumped under a BMTC bus that had stopped at the signal, threatening to commit suicide.
  • Eventually a friend of his arrived at the station and paid the fine and he was released, said the police.
Auto driver lies under bus threatening to commit suicide for asking to pay fine

An auto driver who was asked to pay a fine of Rs 3500, including the old and the new, created high drama by lying under a BMTC bus, threatening to commit suicide, in front of K C General Hospital in Malleshwara on Monday, reported Kannada Prabha.

Mahesh an auto driver was coming from Sampige Road and police caught him in front of K C General Hospital for not wearing the uniform.  When his auto number was checked in the PDA meter it showed that he had violated rules 34 times. Along with the new fine, he was asked to pay old fines, at Rs 100 per violation, all together Rs 3500.  He started screaming and jumped under a BMTC bus that had stopped at the signal, threatening to commit suicide. The police caught him and took him to the police station.

Eventually a friend of his arrived at the station and paid the fine and he was released, said the police.
