Even as Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy and Energy Minister DK Shivakumar have expressed their support to Deepika Padukone, a Bengalurean, and posted security at her father Prakash Padukone’s house in Bengaluru, actors and politicians Ambareesh and Dr Jayamala have expressed their anguish at the threat posed to Deepika Padukone, reports Kannada Prabha.

Ambareesh said posing a threat of grave nature to Deepika Padukone is not right. In a democracy nobody should issue such a statement. Dr Jayamala said when the country’s history is not properly recorded at all, where is the question of twisting the history? Everybody knows who is twisting the history by changing textbooks. Threatening an artist is condemnable. By threatening artistes attempts are being made to diminish their self-confidence. But artistes do not get scared by such attempts. Central government must provide security to Deepika Padukone, she urged.
