As Anti-Corruption Bureau officials conducted raids at several locations in the state - on Friday - a few interesting facts have emerged apart from the assets and currencies that are disproportionate to the known sources of income of the accused.

1. Health Department Training Centre's principal was found to be a co-owner of a wine's shop along with his wife! SMV Kumara Gowda's wife is the proprietor of Venkateshwara Wines on Mulbagal National Highway. Not just a wine shop, she also owns 27 acres of land at Mulbagal taluk. Besides, Gowda owns a private nursing home. The ACB sleuths have found Rs 1.75 lakh cash at home apart from the jewellery.
2. Chikkaballapur Government Hostel Warden Venkataramanappa seemed to have favoured his second wife over the first wife in distributing assets. While his first wife has three houses, commercial complexes and lands, his second wife is richer by two sites and a house. Besides, she also has three houses and two commercial complexes. This is apart from the gold, vehicles and multiple bank accounts.
3. KT Halaswamy, Deputy Commissioner, Transport Department, Bengaluru owns 26 acres of land at Nelamangala taluk in his father's name. Not just that, his father and wife too own houses each in Bengaluru. Besides, this officer also has 11 lakh worth Nissan Terrano car and Rs 28 lakh worth Fortuner car apart from other vehicles. Jewellery worth Rs 11 lakh and 2.7 lakh worth cash were found during the raid.
The raids were also conducted on Vijaykumar M Gudageri, Revenue Inspector, Haveri, Basavaraj Rudrappa Gowdur, Assistant Engineer, Raichur, Bannappa Komar, Assistant Engineer, Yadgir, Sahadeva Bheemarao Mankere, Executive Engineer, Kalaburagi and SP Thippa Reddy, Assistant Engineer, Chikmagaluru, reports Kannada Prabha.
