Enjoy 87 government holidays in 2018
- The State Cabinet has approved the list of holidays for 2018. The State Government employees will have 23 public holidays.
- The government employees will have 23 public holidays, 52 Sundays, 12 second Saturdays a total of 87 holidays.
- The government employees can take 2 days of restricted holidays and 17 days are identified for this.
- 15 casual, 10 earned and 4 local and 2 restricted holidays are allowed.
- The government employees enjoy a total of 118 days of holidays, amounting to 4 months in a year.
The State Cabinet has approved the list of holidays for 2018. The State Government employees will have 23 public holidays. Previous year it was 22, reported Kannada Prabha.
The government employees will have 23 public holidays, 52 Sundays, 12 second Saturdays a total of 87 holidays. The first general holiday in 2018 will be for Sankranthi on Jan 15 followed by Jan 26 for Republic Day. Feb 13 is Mahashivaratri. Mahaveera Jayanthi and Good Friday in March. July there are no general holiday. In Aug and September one holiday each. October has the highest number of holidays with 5 general holidays. In November 4 holidays are ear marked.
The holidays’ list excludes the Chandramana Ugadi and Dr Ambedkar Jayanthi on April 14 that fall on Sundays. Muslims can take restricted holiday on their festivals.
The government employees can take 2 days of restricted holidays and 17 days are identified for this. Along with this 4 days of leave are permitted for local feast or fair or any special circumstances. Apart from this local, casual and earned leave are also provided. 15 casual, 10 earned and 4 local and 2 restricted holidays are allowed. This, along with Sundays, government employees enjoy a total of 118 days of holidays, amounting to 4 months in a year.
