7 arrested for killing youth for complaining against smoking

  • On Vijadashami day, the arrested youth had come to their relative’s house at Shanthi Nagar.
  • Two were standing next to Harish’s house and smoking and he asked them to go a distance and smoke.
  • The two got angry by this and abused Harish and his friends and a fight followed.
  • The youth had gone away after that, but later they called their friends to the spot.
  • They assaulted Harish with lethal weapons and killed him. 
7 arrested for killing youth for complaining against smoking

The Ashok Nagar police have arrested 7 men, including 2 students, for killing one Harish of B Street, for asking them to smoke away from the house, reported Kannada Prabha.

The arrested are Venkatesh (21), a BA student of Ambedkar College, Indiranagar, Gerald Arogya Raj (19), a second PUC drop out, attempting to write exams again, Kiran (23) salesman and Vikram (20), Vijay (24), Vijay alias Kotangucchi (23) and Kumar alias James of Yeshwantpur.

On September 30, on the occasion of VIjayadashami, the arrested youth had come to their relative’s house at Shanthi Nagar. James and Gerald were standing next to Harish’s house near a food godown and smoking. Harish asked the youth to go a distance to the house and smoke.

The two got angry and abused Harish and his friends. Harish’s friends assaulted Gerald. The youth had gone away after that. But later they called their friends to the spot. They inquired with Harish and friends, who beat them up. Then the gang assaulted Harish with lethal weapons, killed him and escaped. Police tracked and arrested them.
