25-year-old man buried alive under garbage

The victim has been identified as Mithun, a native of West Bengal. He was working as a rag picker in the dumping yard premises, when the vehicle carrying garbage just dropped the waste on him, without realising that the man was there.

Mithun was residing at a shed at Konanakunte and was making a living by picking rag. He picked the rag from a dumping yard in the Jakkoor Ward. There is a pond adjacent to the dumping yard.

Mithun was picking some materials from the pond when the vehicle arrived. The driver of the vehicle did not realise the presence of the man and as a routine work dumped the waste into the pond. But by the time he heard the cries and searched for the man, he had died under the burden of garbage.
