11 Hakki Pikki tribals arrested in Uganda

  • A group of 11 from Hakki Pikki tribal camp Harobenavalli who had gone to Burundi in Uganda are arrested.
  • They had gone in search of jobs and were arrested on suspicion, though they have proper Pass Ports.
  • The family members of these 11 Hakki Pikki tribes staged a protest, led by State Coordinator, KPCC Scheduled caste section.
  • They submitted an appeal to the State Government to take action to get them free through the Foreign Affairs Ministry.
11 Hakki Pikki tribals arrested in Uganda

A group of Hakki Pikki tribal from Shivamogga that travel abroad for trade have been detained by the Ugandan police, reported Kannada Prabha.

A group of 11 from Hakki Pikki tribal camp Harobenavalli had gone to Burundi in Uganda in search of jobs. Ranjiyan, Sunanda, Jagannath, Latti, Sandeep, Sandesh, Rajababu, Khajal, Badal, Menegha and Issac were in Burundi, Uganda looking for a job. They have the Passport as per the Central Government rules.  The Burundi police arrested them on suspicion.

The family members of these 11 Hakki Pikki tribes staged a protest on Wednesday, led by M S Siddappa, State Coordinator, KPCC Scheduled caste section.  The protesters submitted an appeal to the State Government, via DC, to take action to get them free through the Foreign Affairs Ministry.
