UP woman brutally gangraped in front of husband infant

A 30-year-old woman was brutally gangraped in front of her husband and new-born baby. The crime was committed by four men who held the husband and the child hostage, forcing the woman into submission. The incident happened when the family was returning home after visiting a doctor in Bhopa area of Muzaffarnagar on Friday morning.

Police said that the 35-year-old man, a resident of Dhansri village under Kakroli police station, was returning home with his wife and baby on a bike after a visit to the pediatrician. They were stopped by four men in a car and were dragged in a sugarcane field. After tying the man up, they took the baby at knife point to force the woman into submission. She was then gangraped.

The family was found by local farmers. The family went to the nearest police station at Bhopa to file a case. The woman was sent to the women's district hospital for medical examination. However, the husband alleged that the police did not take the complaint seriously. Meanwhile, superintendent of police, Ajay Sehdev said, "An FIR has been registered under sections 376 D (gang rape), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 323 (voluntarily causing hurt)."

Police, however, is doubting about the family's version and is investigating the case further.
