Tension mounts in Bengaluru municipality as Padarayanapura corporator tests COVID-19 positive
Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) corporator Imran Pasha tested positive for COVID-19. Thousands are now left worried as they may have come in contact with him. At present, 15 members from his family including his driver have been quarantined.
Bengaluru: The  man from Padarayanapura, in Bengaluru, who leaves no stone unturned to hog publicity with his 'social work' stunts - like food distribution, ration kits, distribution of money, corporator Imran Pasha has done it all to outdo his competitor, MLA Zameer Ahmed Khan.Â
However, those who have benefited from him and have been in contact with him are now regretting and are worried as he has tested positive for COVID-19.Â
According to reports, BBMP Commissioner BH Anil Kumar himself confirmed about Pasha testing positive. Now, along with him, 15 members of his family including a driver have been put under home quarantine.Â
The biggest concern in BBMP is that Pasha tested positive while he was asymptomatic. He had no travel history nor had any contact with COVID-19 patients. But he had met a number of BBMP officials, political leaders for containment measures in his ward to trace potential virus carriers.Â
Padarayanapura's name became national headlines as bad leadership of decades reflected in bad light when the uneducated lot and rioters attacked BBMP and COVID-19 warriors, who were helping residents.Â
Considering it a hotspot, the entire area was sealed down and now with the corporator himself testing positive, the lockdown has been extended till June 21.
Sources said, the corporator in his attempt to use this situation as a springboard to boost his image as the next minority political leader in the JD(S), was reaching out to people, distributing ration kits and thousands may have come in contact with him.Â
