Bengaluru: In a significant blow to BJP in Hoskote, it appears that rebel BJP youth leader and independent MLA Sharath Bache Gowda would now join Congress party as BJP had shut the door for him after inducting the traditional rival MTB Nagaraj into the party's fold.

Sharath and his MP father Bache Gowda from Chikkaballapura were reportedly sulking after BJP decided to take richest politician MTB Nagaraj into their fold last year.

MTB Nagaraj, a Kuruba and former CM Siddaramaiah's man quit the party with 16 others and blamed party leaders and also his 'political guru' Siddaramaiah.

Now after DK Shivakumar, a Vokkaliga at the helm of Congress's affairs in Karnataka and Sharath Bache Gowda also from the same community,  and sharing a good rapport, is said to be the reason for his jump to Congress.

As per reports, District Congress leader Munishammanna has been communicated about Sharath's interest and the decks have been cleared for his entry into Congress and a report has also been submitted to KPCC.

As per sources Congress would induct Sharath into the party on the day when Rahul Gandhi is slated to visit the altered KPCC office in Bengaluru.

This effort is a signal to BJP that Congress can also rope in leaders and strengthen its position just before the next assembly polls which is in two and half years from now.
