Jaipur: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will hold a meeting on Wednesday at 11 am in Jaipur over the political situation in the state with the Congress government in the state facing a crisis.

The meeting will begin after the arrival of senior BJP leader and former Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje who is currently in Dholpur. Raje, who is considered as a key BJP leader in Rajasthan, was not in Jaipur for the last three days amid political slugfest in the state.

BJP leaders also held a meeting on Tuesday which was attended by state chief Satish Poonia besides Om Mathur, Gulab Chand Kataria and Rajendra Rathore.

Though the BJP has not made any official comment about any political negotiation with Pilot, sources said, it is keeping a close watch on numbers of Congress MLAs who are supporting chief minister Ashok Gehlot and those who are in Pilot camp.

The Congress on Tuesday removed Sachin Pilot as deputy chief minister and Rajasthan PCC chief. Two other ministers loyal to him were also removed from their posts. The simmering differences between Pilot and chief minister Ashok Gehlot have come out in the open.

Another party leader and spokesperson Sanjay Jha was also removed from the party on Tuesday as the Rajasthan political crisis deepens.

Meanwhile, Pilot is expected to address a press conference at 10am on Wednesday to respond to the allegations levelled against him. Gehlot and other Congress leaders have claimed Pilot had colluded with the BJP to pull down the Congress government in the state.

Pilot and a group of MLAs loyal to him went to Delhi last weekend after the Special Operations Group of Rajasthan Police issued summons to him as it was probing allegations of BJP attempts to destabilise the Gehlot government.

However, Sachin Pilot's camp has claimed repeatedly he would not join the BJP. "Though the BJP has made no official comment about any political negotiation with Sachin Pilot, he has spoken to some leaders from the saffron party," PTI reported on Tuesday night. Multiple BJP leaders on Tuesday had 'welcomed' Pilot to join the BJP.
