Police personnel injured in clash over relief materials in West Bengal's Baduria


Locals from Baduria area in West Bengal's North 24 Parganas district are furious over the distribution of relief goods. A huge uproar ensued after accusations of political discrimination over the act were thrown in the air.

Political discrimination has allegedly seeped into Baduria area in West Bengal's North 24 Parganas district over distribution of relief material. Few locals of Baduria claimed the distribution of relief goods was becoming problematic as there was “some kind of political discrimination going on”. Residents of Daspara in Baduria were protesting since morning over relief materials and even blocked a road in the area.

Police urged protesters to return to their homes and assured them that they will be delivered essential items. However, the protest went on, provoking the police to "use force".

Quite a few videos of the clash are making the rounds on the internet in which it can be seen clearly that the locals are furious.

The group of upset residents included men and women who were in no mood to the relent.

Three policemen and few locals were injured in the incident.
