Hunter helped the police bust several drug cases. The brave dog even won the State Police Chief's K9 medal for his top-notch service from 2018 to 2021.
Kollam: The police force is in deep sorrow after losing one of their best. Hunter, an 8-year-old Labrador Retriever, was the absolute pride of the Kollam City Police Dog Squad. He played a huge role in solving many tough crimes as a key member of the Kerala Police K9 Dog Squad. Sadly, the brave dog passed away while undergoing treatment for cancer. Hunter showed amazing skills right from when he was just 3 months old. He helped the cops track down a lot of chemical drugs over the years. For his outstanding work between 2018 and 2021, Hunter even bagged the prestigious K9 medal from the State Police Chief.
The department gave him a proper farewell with full state honors. Many police officers and dog handlers gathered to say goodbye. KAP 3rd Battalion Assistant Commandant Vinod, District Crime Branch ACP Rajesh Kumar (representing the Kollam City Police Chief), Kollam City AR Camp Inspector Jayachandran Pillai, and K9 Squad in-charge Dr. Binod paid their final respects to the furry hero.
