A shocking crime has come to light from Kochi, leaving residents disturbed. A man allegedly attempted to murder his female friend and dumped her on the roadside, believing she was dead. The motive behind the brutal act was his fear that she might interfere with his upcoming wedding.

The incident took place in Kozhippilly, Kothamangalam. The accused has been identified as Nithin, a native of Kunnathunad who works at a private bank. According to police reports, his wedding was scheduled for the following Monday, and he was anxious that the woman, who is already married, could disrupt his marriage plans.
On Saturday, Nithin met the woman and asked her to join him in his car. During the drive, he allegedly tried to strangle her using a towel. Assuming that she had died, he proceeded to tie her hands and threw her out of the vehicle on the Kothamangalam bypass before fleeing the scene.
In a further act of crime, he reportedly stole her gold jewellery weighing around 12 sovereigns. However, the victim survived the attack, which eventually led to the police investigation gaining momentum.
A special team led by Kunnathunad Circle Inspector S. Sivalal tracked down the accused after gathering crucial evidence. Nithin was soon arrested, bringing some relief in the case. Further investigation is currently underway to understand all aspects of the incident.
