A Special women’s court in Mumbai sentenced all four accused in the Keenan-Reuben murder case to life imprisonment today.

Keenan Santos, 24, and Reuben Fernandez, 29, were murdered outside a food joint at Amboli on October 20, 2011 while trying to protect their women friends from four molesters.

While the 24-year old died on the same day, Reuben succumbed to his injuries on after ten days.

The four convicted -- Jitendra Rana, Sunil Bodh, Satish Dulhaj and Dipak Tival –were tried in a special court after their arrest.

The conclusive judgement came after four years of the killing, though the case was submitted to a fast-track court.

The murder in a crowded place had generated a lot of protests and campaigns demanding safer environment for women.
