Bengaluru: Koo App is going to celebrate Karnataka Rajyotsava with some of Karnataka’s most known personalities and other Kannadigas at large on November 1.

Koo App is a micro-blogging platform, in Kannada, and many other Indian vernacular languages. It helps people express themselves in their mother tongue. Koo was launched in March 2020 in Kannada and has now become the largest Kannadiga community. Many notable personalities have joined Koo since then.

The event will be hosted live on Koo at 6 pm on November 1 and will be celebrated through exclusive live performances from some of the most talented and celebrated artists, singers, actors, actresses and speeches from politicians.

The event will be joined by Karnataka chief minister BS Yediyurappa, popular Kannada standup comedian Gangavathi Pranesh, actor and director, Jagadesh Malnad, actress Neetu Shetty, actor Naveen Krishna, magic show hosted by world famous magician Kudroli Ganesh, and performances from singer Katyayini Bhat and actress and dancer, Roopika. The entire event will be hosted on Koo by Koo’s Founder Aprameya Radhakrishna.

On this occasion Aprameya Radhakrishna, founder of Koo, said “It gives me immense pleasure to celebrate Karnataka Rajyotsava on Koo. As a Kannadiga I am extremely proud of our culture and our history. We have united many Kannadigas on Koo and brought some of the best Kannadigas together to create the largest and most vibrant Kannada community here. I look forward to a great celebration and invite all Kannadigas to join us on Nov 1.”

In a few months since launch Koo has become the largest Kannada micro-blog in the world. It has the highest number of thoughts and opinions being shared compared to any other micro-blog in Kannada. The app was declared as one of the winners of the Aatmanirbhar App Innovation Challenge held by the government in August 2020.

PM Modi also encouraged Indians to use Koo to express themselves in Indian languages. Many prominent personalities have been using Koo since its launch in March. Some of the notable ones are Sadhguru, Karnataka chief minister BS Yediyurappa, deputy chief minister Ashwath Narayana, former cricketers Anil Kumble and Javagal Srinath, former Prime Minister HD Devegowda, former chief minister HD Kumaraswamy, DK Shivakumar, Bengaluru MP Tejasvi Surya, Shobha Karandlaje, CT Ravi, Bengaluru Police Commissioner Kamal Pant, Official accounts of BMTC and Bengaluru Police among many others.

They have a substantial following on Koo and share their thoughts with fellow Kannadigas every day. Users get an immersive Kannada experience when they use Koo in Kannada. People from all walks of life are on Koo – politicians, fraternity of the Kannada Film Industry, sports stars, authors, writers, poets, singers, composers, journalists, editors and lakhs of users across 1000s of different professions. It’s common to see Koos from unassuming sections of the society whose voices are never heard elsewhere.
