Karnataka bypolls: Darshan booked for violating COVID-19 protocols during campaign
The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) on Sunday booked a case against popular Kannada actor Darshan, for violating the COVID-19 protocols. Darshan was campaigning for BJP candidate Munirathna in Rajarajeshwari Nagar (RR Nagar) constituency on Friday.
Bengaluru: Sandalwood star Darshan has been booked for violating the COVID-19 protocols during a campaign for the BJP’s Rajarajeshwari Nagar candidate.
The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) on Sunday booked a case against the popular Kannada actor Darshan, for flouting the COVID-19 election campaigning protocols.
Darshan was campaigning for BJP candidate Munirathna in Rajarajeshwari Nagar constituency on Friday.

District Electoral Officer and BBMP commissioner N Manjunath Prasad said a case has been registered under the Disaster Management Act, 2005 on the actor and other violators.
“Videos and photographs captured by our officials during the actors' campaign along with BJP candidate Munirathna, have been produced. Subsequently, we have booked a case against Darshan and others based on the reports received by our officials," Manjunath Prasad said.
Along with Darshan, producer Rockline Venkatesh, actress Amulya and her husband Jagadish were also a part of the campaign.
Meanwhile, the civic body has registered a total of 15 cases in the past two days for campaigners not following social-distancing and other COVID-19 protocols.
