The Judicial Magistrate at Saket Court on Tuesday committed the case against Dr. Manish Gupta to the court of sessions for further proceedings in the charge sheet filed against him for the alleged offence of murder. He has been charge-sheeted in a domestic help murder case.
Case Background and Proceedings
The court had taken cognisance of the charge sheet on September 18 and Delhi Police filed a charge sheet on September 14.
This case pertains to the murder of a domestic help in the Mount Kailash area under Amar Colony Police Station on June 18 this year.
Judicial Magistrate of First Class (JMFC) Deepika Thakran put the case before the Principal District and Sessions Judge for further proceedings before a Sessions Court, as it is a murder case which is triable at the court of sessions. The next hearing is on October 3.
Advocate Kamal Nayan Tiwari appeared for Manish Gupta and received the copy of the charge sheet. He also received the copy of the legible documents.
The Alleged Crime
An FIR was lodged at Amar Colony police station. Manish Gupta was arrested after the alleged murder of domestic help.
It is alleged that the maid Meena Haldar was stabbed to death by the accused at his residence in the Mount Kailash area on June 18. Her body was found in a pool of blood on a rooftop. (ANI)
