A pet dog named Sheroo was left waiting inside his home for three days after the deaths of his owner and both his parents in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra. He was finally rescued in an emotional reunion with his owner's grandfather.
The tragedy occurred in the Tisgaon area after 18-year-old Kunal Chandgude became upset when his father refused to buy him a new iPhone due to financial difficulties. Kunal went to a hilltop and threatened suicide.
The dog clung to his owner's grandfather as soon as he saw him
His parents followed him and spent nearly three hours trying to persuade him to return. Police, villagers, and fire brigade personnel joined the rescue effort, but Kunal kept moving along the edge of the hill. Around 1 pm, Kunal jumped. His father tried to grab him but lost his balance and fell. Sangita, who witnessed the fall, also jumped. All three died.
Meanwhile, Sheroo remained inside the family home for three days. People provided him with some food and water, but his condition deteriorated as he waited for his family to return.
When Kunal's grandfather arrived, Sheroo immediately clung to him. The elderly man comforted the dog and hand-fed him. Members of the Pet Lovers Association reached the spot to help rescue Sheroo. With the grandfather's assistance, the team brought the dog safely out.
As Sheroo was placed in the rescue van, his grandfather watched with tears in his eyes. Association representative Barel Sanchis said Sheroo had been safely rescued. The association had discussed the situation with Municipal Corporation officials.
Sheroo will be kept at a Municipal Corporation shelter home. The Pet Lovers Association has appealed to the public to help find him a permanent home.
